Sikar Road Accident News
As the entire country was preparing to celebrate the festival of Dhanteras, the joy of 12 families in the Laxmangarh area of Sikar district, Rajasthan, turned into mourning. On Tuesday afternoon, a tragic road accident in Laxmangarh claimed 12 lives and left over 35 people seriously injured.
The incident occurred when a local route bus, traveling at high speed from Sujangarh to Nawalgarh, collided with a bridge. The impact was so severe that the front side of the bus was completely crushed.
According to police reports, the accident resulted in 12 fatalities, with more than 35 passengers injured. The injured are receiving treatment at the district hospital in Laxmangarh and SK Hospital in Sikar. Many of the victims were from nearby villages. Seven critically injured individuals were referred from Sikar to Jaipur for advanced medical care.
Cause of the Accident:
Police investigations revealed that the private bus was speeding on the Sujangarh to Nawalgarh route. As the bus approached the Laxmangarh bridge, it was supposed to turn toward the Jaipur-Bikaner road. Due to excessive speed and loss of balance, the bus crashed into the bridge. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was carrying double its capacity, with passengers not only occupying the seats but also overcrowding the aisles.
Following the incident, local officials, including Collector Mukul Sharma, IG Satyendra Singh, SP Bhuwan Bhushan Yadav, CO City IPS Shaheen C, and ADM Ratan Kumar, arrived at the scene to coordinate the transport of the injured via 12 ambulances. The accident was so catastrophic that it took police over two hours to identify the victims.
